Funny radio advertising, thy name was Paul & Walt Worldwide.

Scroll to see scripts and hear mp3s of award-winning radio ads.
At last I am posting for posterity some of the least annoying radio commercials I have written, and when I say "least annoying radio commercials," I mean, of course, "funny and effective radio commercials that helped build empires."
Most of the scripts I wrote were collaborations with Paul, who produced and directed almost all of them, too, at what was Paul & Walt Wordwide, a funny radio boutique we co-founded.

The Paul & Walt entity [logo by Tony Patti] grew by design and business plan into what is now the all-star team at World Wide Wadio, Hollywood. Though I'm not part of that company, I'm in the history you can scroll on the Wadio press page; I still free-lance for them sometimes; and recommend them always. (Are you an agency producer? Go there!)
(Want ME to write and produce some spots for ya? Okay! My contact info is there on the left.)During those of my radio days, I wrote thousands of spots. That's right: thousands. Can you believe I didn't crack? Well, in a way I did, but that's another story. Of those thousands of spots, maybe, like, nine didn't suck too badly.
Here for your bemusement they are.
Laugh Catalog :60 Radio | George Schlatter's Comedy Club | Clio-winning sound design. Try not to titter.Robert Goulet :60 Radio | The Simpsons | Robert Goulet reads "The Writings of Bart."
The Ballad of Judge Wapner :60 Radio | People's Court | He sits in judgement...he stands for the law...
Beat-Yourself-Up Hotline :60 Radio | Smartship.com | "Start beating yourself up whenever you're comfortable."
Viva La Volvo :60 Radio | Southern California Volvo Dealers | "My Volvo? That's between me and my gynocologist."
Millions of Americans :60 Radio | American Optometric Association | How did we fit all those people in one tiny studio?
Star In Your Own Radio Commercial :60 Radio | Budweiser | It's no "Real Men of Genius," but it got some attention.
Missing Persons :60 Radio | Matlock | My favorite bit of sound design is the walk down the hall.
I'm Shaving My Head :30 Radio | Star Trek: the Next Generation. | Get the look! The "Jean-Luc" look!
Read the scripts, listen to the spots, send money.
Just kidding. You don't have to send money.

Walt,
You're right: You only did get two pages. But they are GREAT pages. Paul Fey gave you BIG credits for working on the Simpson's spot and detailed the history of its creation. If I only had more room and more time to include all the really great radio that's been done over the past 50 years! Thanks for putting my book as a link on your web page.

Thanks, Larry. My carping (in the "Walt on Amazon" list) aside, we are proud as a peacock that our "Robert Goulet" spot for "The Simpsons" made it into your book!
If anybody else is thinking about writing a book about the fertile subject of funny radio -- call Paul. As I said above: he remembers more.
