Has anybody here seen my old friend Marnie?
I need a haircut. Bad. But the last time I saw my trusted stylist Marnie K. Mills, one of the world's great hair artists, was earlier this decade when she gave me the famous, drastic cut that garnered such funny reactions from my friends. That very day I took this photo of her, handing me coffee to prepare for the traumatic event.
Yet was the trauma too much for HER? Within days, Marnie was gone from St. Louis, and the last I heard was a huge success in New Mexico. NEW MEXICO? Must I meet her in TAOS just for a TRIM?
I ask you... (music up)...
Has anybody here / Seen my old friend Marnie? / Can you tell me where she's gone? / She cut a lot of hair off / But they say the good, they dye coifs; / I turned around and she was gone.*
Marnie, pls report in. Or Marnie sighters, pls do the same. Newcomers, see the original cutting comments.
*With apologies to Richard Holler, lyricist of the original song, Abraham, Martin and John. Here's the intense, gotta-have
Leonard Nimoy version!

I confirm that Marnie has NOT been spotted in Madrid.
There! That should narrow things down for ya. Glad I could help.

Hey Walt,
Tony Patti advised me of your website and you inquiry to my whereabouts.
Yes, I am alive and well on the U.S./ Mexican border! NOT in New Mexico. In BRISBEE, ARIZONA. I just opened my own place called MONSOON FACE AND BODY and I just love it!!
I still cut hair, but now I offer facials and teach yoga classes. Other people work here teaching yoga as well as giving massage. I'm planning a web site soon, as the business is progressing everyday.
I just got home, a few nights ago, from L.A. (which was like a rainforest in Seattle -really beautiful). I'm developing a boutique in the front of thespace selling Kimonos, yoga tops, Indian blouses, jewelry, hair care, skin care, meditation tools...you get the idea. L.A. has EVERTHING and so the trip was productive!
Are you back in St. Louis? I heard you had moved to Chicago??? Chicago doesn't seem that fun to me, brrrrr.
I'll try to send some pictures.
Love, Marnie

Marnie! Thanks the report -- I can calm down now. Whew. So it's Brisbee, eh? I'll have to Mapquest it.
Yes, I'm back from Chicago, and already I miss the best thing about the place: not needing a freezer! Most months, you can just set your ice cube trays on the nearest windowsill and bingo!
Keep us posted on Monsoon -- I'll post pics in exchange for a free yoga class.
